Arte Pubblica – Ritratti Sociali II edizione (Public Art – Social Portraits II edition) is a project carried out by Ecomuseo Rimini, curated and conceived by Sonia Fabbrocino.
The second exhibition (11.11.22 — 30.11.22) – held at the Cinema Astoria of Rimini – brought together the works of twelve artists (Alessia Elettra Campana, Erica Conti, Pierfilippo Gatti, Massiel Leza, Filippo Maestroni, Sara Marini, Valentina Perazzini, Matilde Pretolesi, Lia Proti (PROT), Danilo Sciorilli, Mattia Tentoni, Charlotte Van Bost), selected through an open call by the curator herself and some members of the Biennale del Disegno Rimini.
In this project, I was responsible for the graphics of the event poster, exhibition panels, captions and artist cards placed alongside the works on display.
The poster becomes a metaphor for a “social fabric”, a “skin”, in which the stories, memories and lives of the characters portrayed by the artists, here represented by their gazes (the eyes), their gestures (the hands), their voices (the mouths), merge, blur and intertwine.
Watched from afar, the fragments become, poetically, petals in flight, recalling the naturalistic and landscape component of the Ecomuseo.
Thus, from the artists’ “Social Portraits” a unique
work, the poster, is born, becoming itself a “Social Portrait”.
